It is quite appropriate to recall what Charles Darwin has observed, “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent but the one most responsive to change”. Global Economic environment as well as economic environment in India is witnessing spectacular changes. In particular, India’s services sector has grown remarkably in terms of its contribution to GDP growth and also in terms of its share in the international business. It is increasingly realised that a knowledge based society is absolutely necessary for rapid economic development. The global playing field is being levelled by the technological revolution and paradigm shift in the policy regime all over the world. The forces of tradition, culture and commitments to preserve national identity have caused a major change in the corporate approach to international business. Multinational companies are trying to widen their vision and in consequence, “They think global and act local” In short, appropriate knowledge, skill and attitude have emerged as significant driving forces in the present context of globalisation and liberalisation. |
